We identified a piece of land belonging to the council in Endlesham Road near Churchcroft Close. On Sunday 27th October 2024, with the help of volunteers and residents, we cleared the rubbish and weeds. We received a microgrant from Wandsworth that helped fund our initial planting, and then went on to plant some shrubs and plants kindly donated by the Wimbledon Tennis Club – left over from the tournament. We also planted lots of Spring bulbs that will hopefully brighten the plot in March and April this year.

It was a great success! It was great to see how residents helped with watering and making cups of tea, and the land looked so much better afterwards. You can see the results for yourself on our Instagram!

We are to continue this month, February 2025, as the council has removed some snowberry bushes that were getting very straggly. We are going to replace them with hawthorn and spindleberry.
